State Bank of India (SBI) has invited online applications for Specialist Cadre Officers on Contract Basis under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/22. The recruitment covers two IT Risk positions: Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) and Assistant Vice President (IT Risk).

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for Deputy Vice President (IT Risk) must have one of the qualifications prescribed by SBI:

  • MCA, MSc Computer Science or MSc IT with at least 50% marks; or

Experience

The minimum post-qualification experience is 12 years in the IT domain.

Experience of at least 6 years in IT risk management or information security is preferable.

SBI has also listed experience relating to IT risk frameworks, senior-level IT risk programmes, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, incident response and business continuity among the preferred experience areas.

Preferred Certification

Any one of the following certifications is preferred:

  • CISSP
  • CRISC
  • CISM
  • CISA

The certification must be valid and dated on or before the last date of registration.

SBI AVP IT Risk Eligibility

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification for Assistant Vice President (IT Risk) is the same prescribed qualification structure:

  • BE/BTech in the specified technology-related disciplines with at least 50% marks; or
  • MCA/MSc Computer Science/MSc IT with at least 50% marks; or
  • MTech in Computer Science, Cyber Security or Information Security with at least 50% marks.

Experience

Candidates need at least 9 years of experience in the IT domain.

Experience of at least 5 years in IT risk management or information security is preferable.

The notification also lists knowledge of risk management frameworks, cybersecurity, regulatory requirements, incident response and business continuity among the preferred experience areas.

SBI SCO Salary / CTC

The annual CTC limits mentioned in the notification are:

The contract may also be terminated by either side with three months' notice or through the prescribed three-month compensation arrangement.

SBI SCO Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

Shortlisting → Interview → CTC Negotiation → Final Selection

Shortlisting

Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not automatically result in an interview call. SBI's shortlisting committee will determine the parameters and number of candidates to be shortlisted.

Interview

The interview carries 100 marks. The qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.

CTC Negotiation

After the interview process, CTC negotiations will be conducted with candidates according to merit. If a candidate does not agree to the negotiated CTC, the next candidate in the merit list may be considered.

The final merit list is based on interview marks. Where candidates have equal marks at the cut-off point, age in descending order is used for ranking.
